Darin Carney is the Founding Superintendent at XCL American Academy.

He is originally from the United States (Colorado) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Metropolitan State College in Education – History Minor, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado in Educational Leadership, Curriculum Development, Finance, HR and Teacher Evaluation. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership/Management at Walden University.

He has been a noteworthy and inspiring leader in the educational space for over 30 years. His experience spans the United States of America, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore.

Most recently, Darin has served as the Chief Operations Officer in Vietnam Australia School in Vietnam. He has proudly led BCIS American International Schools in China and Hong Kong as the Head of School. In addition, Darin held several leadership positions, such as Superintendent and Founding Principal of a school in the United States.

Darin is honored to take on the role of a Founding Superintendent (Founding Pioneer) at XCL American Academy. He is determined to build the best American school in Singapore and provide high-quality, accessible American education that empowers students to succeed and make a positive mark on the world.
